Rocketman

Morning all! I was able to finally watch Rocketman and I have to tell you it was one of the best movies I have seen yet, and lucky for you all I’m here to tell you why.

One: The music
There is no question that the music was going to rock. Its Elton John. That being said Taron Egerton who played Elton was able to really find his inner rockstar. It is true that Taron has not yet had to do rock music but when he came and out belted “Bennie and the Jets” it was golden.

Two: Open about sexualtiy
From the start of the movie they did not hide that Elton is a gay man. He is more open in this movie then he was in real life but it was well done. It didn’t feel forces or awkward but it felt like this is his life. Being gay was part of that. Plus a shirtless Richard Madden and Taron Egerton is just a great perk.

Three: The Story
So if you get a little obsessive about history and movies like I do and you go through and look at all the interview you will find that the movie missed some important things. Things like Elton had a younger half brother from his mother. Or the fact that they cut out an important character in his life, Long John Baldry. But when you are watching this movie, you don’t feel that. You feel like you are flowing through the story of his life. You feel the ups and the downs that Elton feels. You watch as he puts on a mask for his fans as he is suffering. Then it’s all rolled up in music.
